Yan-Jun Shen is a principal investigator in Watershed and Agricultural Hydrology at Center for Agricultural Resources Research, IGDB, CAS. He received his PhD degree in Geoinformatik (mainly focus on Hydrology and Water Resources) from the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena, Germany. Recent research has focused on catchment hydrology and water environmental management, in particular a joint simulation of water quantity and quality based on modelling technologies under the impact of climate change and human activities, by integrating remote sensing, meteorological and eco-hydrological multi-source datasets. He has published more than 30 papers in public journals (e.g. Water Resources Research, Journal of Hydrology). As a major contributor, he received the award of Outstanding Science and Technology Achievement Prize of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2019. He served as a reviewer for many leading journals.
